"We have used the TraQ Evidence Management System by QueTel for over 12 years and still believe this is best evidence management system out there. QueTel understands the evidence management role in law enforcement and continually is updating their technology and software to stay current with today's standards. Maintaining the integrity of the evidence is crucial in law enforcement and the TraQ system accomplishes this. QueTel's customer service is outstanding and continues to be even after you purchase the product. I would highly recommend QueTel."

Welcome to QueTel
Founded in 1982
The QueTel Corporation of Chantilly, Virginia, specializes in tracking and unique item management systems; many of which use barcodes. Its target market is the manual, time consuming procedures used in the back office, behind the scenes activities that are almost invisible. Founded in 1982, the company sold barcode equipment and barcode software for generic warehouse and asset inventory. The following year it built one of the first PC-based barcode asset systems. Today its focus is on customized browser-based asset systems and applications for uniformed services law enforcement, fire, and emergency services. These can be installed on client servers or run on our own secure cloud servers over the internet.
QueTel, the oldest vendor of police evidence management software, extended its portfolio beyond that niche, as police evidence clients came to grips with the meteoric growth of digital evidence (images, videos, and voice recordings). We offer complete physical and digital evidence applications in one database. It has an “officer proof” wizard for describing evidence and a one click upload of digital evidence along with the ability to display both for detectives and prosecutors when they prepare cases for court. We have had notable success with interfaces to agency records systems, by adding the evidence management, which offer searches, reporting, and automated disposition capabilities that such RMS systems lack.
Several evidence clients also used QueTel’s asset software for equipment. However, they began to realize that the standard “asset” system did not go far enough in terms of uniforms, supplies and specialized equipment such as radios, laptops, Tasers, and weapons that might be managed by different units in the department. Agencies wanted to track vehicles and their contents, as a unit, pools of equipment checked out and back by shift (or event), and items that might be supplied directly by a private vendor. QueTel changed the underlying logic of its asset system to accommodate these needs.
During the fall of 2011 and the ensuing winter of 2012, QueTel will release additional tracking applications, when it installs five components of The TraQ Suite in the Prince William County (VA) Police Department. To their three existing components QueTel will be adding an internal forensic (lab) request tracking and an information system along with an impounded vehicle management system. Each component can be purchased to stand alone on in any combination according to a client’s need.
TraQ Suite 6.4
QueTel offers the most powerful web-based browser solutions on the market for police evidence and property and digital image and video management, well as police and fire quartermaster solutions for supply: equipment (asset) management, control of uniforms, and consumable supplies
The TraQ Suite 6.4 is the fourth generation software solutions to serve the working needs of the often invisible back room law enforcement staff, as well as providing management with mouse-click access to information about these functions.
The history of the web-based TraQ Suite starts in the property and evidence room of the Albuquerque New Mexico Police Department (2001). In the ensuing eight years, we have continually ported existing functions to web technology and introduced to the market new web modules. In 2009 we added the last pieces to The TraQ Suite, to make physical evidence, digital evidence, and the quartermaster functions fully web-based.
Three factors have contributed to The TraQ Suite being the most polished and feature rich applications for barcode evidence, digital images, and quartermaster solutions available. QueTel religiously keeps pace with changing barcode, database, and programming technology to have an edge and set the standards in law enforcement and fire administrative functions. The 60 years combined property room warehouse management experience of current and former employees further enrich our offerings. Finally, we credit our existing clients’ needs and experiences to provide vision as well as ideas. Read More »
